A Message about Sun Safety
Our centres are proud to be a part of the SunSmart program.
Every year in NSW alone, more than 36,600 new cases of cancer are expected to be diagnosed, and the impact on families, carers and communities is significant. For access to a large range of resources, click here.
The SunSmart program aims to reduce this number by promoting sun safety through schools and childcare centres.
How can you keep your children safe from the sun and follow our sun safety policy?
- Remember to apply sunscreen on your child before they leave the house to come to school (it usually takes at least 20 minutes for sunscreen to start working)
- Dress your children in sun safe clothing This means shirts with sleeves, a school hat, pants and closed shoes (thongs and singlets are big no no’s)
- Follow the cancer council SunSmart UV alerts
